The first phase is "THE JOY OF THE COMPETITION." This phase is where participants have 3 minutes to create a cheer or ovation in front of their competitors (this will give them additional points). The captains of each team relay the event schedule and parameters of the "Captains' Meeting" event to each other. Tools provided. The third phase is the "Building Phase." Participants have 1 hour to complete the construction and decoration of their creation. Additionally, teams compete in a variety of quick-start challenge stations to earn points and additional tools. The event concludes with the pre-selected participants judging the sculptures based on creativity, size, and detail. All points are calculated to determine the team's first place.
